About the Owners:  Bill & Sandy Morelock

Hide-A-Way originated in 1989.  Prior to its beginning, it was called “Camp Merryland”, but known as Krill’s Farm by the locals—named after Bill’s granddad, Pop Krill.  From the time Bill was a little boy, he loved traveling from home in Maryland to his grandparents’ farm in Pennsylvania.  Pop Krill bought the acreage in 1946, acquiring three houses on the property.  One had fallen to disrepair, which he salvaged and used as a hunting camp as well as a place to feed his 18 hired hands.  The front yard is where Pop Krill liked to host picnics at Camp Merryland.  As you pull in Hide-A-Way’s entrance, you’ll see a large stone outdoor fireplace he built to cook for the crowds which numbered in hundreds.

Though, Hide-A-Way has not only “historical” value to Bill Morelock. It is also where Bill had met his wife, Sandy Kirk of Warren, Ohio.  With Bill’s marriage to Sandy, he didn’t realize what changes were about to take place.  They moved into the former camp when it had little more than shower curtains for room dividers, 12-foot long dining tables and primitive bathroom facilities.

With help from their sons, Willie & Allen, Bill & Sandy have built each cottage “themselves”.  After much hard work, Camp Merryland has become their beautiful, lovely home.  It is their own perfect “Hide-A-Way”, and they would feel remiss if they were not to share it with you!

Who You’ll Meet:  Allen & Koren

Bill & Sandy’s youngest son, Allen, has just recently moved back from Northern Virginia to take over running Hide-A-Way and to help with the farm.  He brought with him, his lovely Koren of Jefferson, Maryland and their 7-lb 4-legged child, named Porscha.  Koren and Porscha will warmly greet you and make you feel welcome when you check-in for your special stay at Hide-A-Way.

Both Allen and Koren (and maybe Porscha) will do their best to make your stay enjoyable.
